Dr. Monell has over 30 years working in the fields of social work, criminal justice, sociology, and human services. A scholarly practitioner and activist with a broad range of experiences both personal and professional, he has worked for nonprofit, local, state, and federal government agencies.

Additionally, he has taught at community college, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral granting institutions.

As a national trainer, he provides technical and supportive services to local, state, and federal agencies in the fields of criminal justice and social work. As a social justice advocate, he's traveled abroad extensively working with scholars, practitioners, and civil rights' groups.
